Als ich am 21.08. in Keflavik in Island landete, empfing mich am Internationalen Flugplatz ein wolkenloser Himmel und sehr
angenehmen Temperaturen.
Aus Gewichtsgründen habe ich eine Winterjacke nicht im Reisegepäck in Berlin-SFX mit aufgegeben, sondern während des Fluges bei mir gehabt.
Die brauchte ich während meiner Ankunft in Island definitiv nicht. Das mitgenommene Fahrrad wurde von der Fluggesellschaft sehr gut umsorgt und überlebte die Reise ohne nennenswerte
Schäden. Auch die die Anfahrt mit den "Fly"-Bussen zum BSÍ nach Reykjavik hinein verlief reibungslos.
Dort angekommen wartete meine Vermieterin meiner zukünftigen Wohnstätte der nächsten 9 Monate in Reykjavik auf mich. Sie orderte ein Taxi, ohne dass ich groß ablehnen konnte (ich hatte
schließlich einen Trekkingrucksack, eine 120L Expeditionstasche und Handgepäck, inkl. Fahrrad bei mir- war nicht einfach, die Balance zu halten (; ).
5000K leichter erreichten wir nach nicht allzu langer Zeit den recht abgelegenen Ortsbereich Breiðholt von Reykjavik. Dort wurde ich den Nachmittag fast ein bisschen zu ausführlich von meiner
Vermieterin in die neue Umgebung eingewiesen. Zum Einrichten meines Zimmers kam ich gefühlt erst recht spät.
Dabei schien noch lang draußen die Sonne und man musste sich daran
erinnern, dass ja 2 Stunden Zeitverschiebung zwischen Deutschland und Island herrschen (und es ist noch Sommer (; ).
Den 1. Tag hab ich damit ziemlich entspannt erlebt. Ich bin optimistisch, dass das so bleiben wird. (:

I arrived at the 21st of August in Iceland and may have the best weather just in the beginning of my stay. Of different reasons, but mainly because of the weight of my luggage which I had to give away before the fly in Berlin-SFX starts, I was wearing a winter jacket. At least for this day, to wear a winter jacket was not necessary.
I took my bike with me and I had a critical view before the flight started. But in the end the bike had not any damages in the first moment. After I arrived. I took the “Fly”-bus to the BSÍ to Reykjavik. The landlady of my future home was waiting for me at the BSÍ.
Because of my bike, the huge expedition bag, my hiking rucksack, she ordered a huge taxi for me. Wrong decision, I recognized when I lost 5000 ISK. Finally, we arrived in a very short time Breiðholt. A part in the upper town of Reykjavik and the place where I will live the next year.
At first, the landlady and me went around and she showed me the area, where I shall dwell. She talked a lot of things to me and I became very tired, during the sun was shining outside. But I had to remember that there is a 2 hour time difference between Germany and Iceland.
To sum up, the first day in Reykjavik was very relaxed and everything (except the taxi part) went smoothly. I will be optimistic, that this situation will be like this or similar to this in the future.
